Happy 4th of July | Lifestyle

Happy 4th of July!
I am so proud to call this country my home and live in a country as diverse, free and beautiful as ours. This is my 4th year celebrating America's Independence Day and each year gets special. I thought today is the perfect day to catch up with you guys. I haven't posted a blog for almost 2 months now. I was busy with summer semester classes so, I decided to just focus on one thing and take a break from everything else. In winter it's hard to create content because, it's difficult to take pictures as the sun set's by 5pm but, I do get a lot of spare time in those cold months to write whereas, summer is full of fun activities and travel so, I have an immense amount of content to share but, I have very little time to sit down and get it all together. Today, I decided to finally sit down and write a blog post. I will post a lot more blogs in July and August so get ready for lots of new posts.
Yesterday, I drove down to my favorite city and had a lovely lunch. Acai bowl 4th of July themed and a sugar baby Raw pressed juice. I absolutely love eating plant based foods when I go out. They always taste really good and are perfect for summer months. I wore a casual outfit an off the shoulder top that I got from Tjmax some black jeans and sandals. I have been working on some really exciting projects, I don't have date for them as of yet but, soon I will let you guys know more about it. Stay tuned! I hope you all had a fun and relaxing long weekend.
Until next time, always remember to keep hustling for your dreams. Xo, Jessi

My Catechist Journey | Wishlist

Every good chapter comes to an end. When I was 17, I started teaching catechism to kids almost half my age. It was daunting at first but, soon enough I realized that I get to learn a lot more from the kids than, what I taught them. Every Monday they came to class with excitement eager to learn and had endless imagination with every little activity we did. Every Monday from last three years, I used to look forward to teach catechism. It was the best stress-buster after a long Monday. I love kids and I love to teach so both of these things worked as a perfect Monday refresher combo for me. Some days were rough to plan lessons and study for finals and balance work-life but, it was all worth it. I was proud to see my first grade kids from 2014 as they were now actively participating it the family mass. I feel super emotional thinking that, I don't know when I will get to see these little kids again. My only hope is that I added a little value to their life and maybe as they grow up they will always remember their Miss Dias.
When I was a kid. I used to love going to catechism class every Sunday. I loved listening to stories and loved my teachers dearly. I used to only imagine me being a catechist and giving back the knowledge I got and share God's stories. Little did I know, I would get this opportunity few years later. I'm extremely grateful that I got to be a catechist and I will always cherish the past three years. It's been quite a journey and I have to end it here as I take up on new adventures this year.
I'm adding this to my big and long time wishlist of volunteering many more to come. I hope this  post will inspire some of you guys to give back something that you have loved to learn. I feel that volunteering serves both ways the happiness of giving reflexes right back to you. Have a Blessed day! Until next time, keep hustling for your dreams. Xo, Jessi.

We were watching love your neighbors story by veggie tales.
In the last class we learnt about loving your neighbors.
Be the first one to love and love even when it's hard. It's so wonderful to discuss such big topics with such young minds.

In the morning, Simi's grandmother came to visit us and brought some lovely breakfast. After we had breakfast our Australian cousin came by to visit and she is super sweet and easy got along with us. Then, we got ready and went out to give goodies around in our village. Last stop was to go visit the newly weds. We spoiled them with a wedding basket and then, I did a mini photoshoot for my new vahini. She looked super pretty and they both truly make an awesome couple.

My favorite cousin brothers

We got home and I face timed my brother and my parents. Dad called me literally 4 times a day. They missed me more than I missed them. Honestly, I was busy having fun, surrounded my family 24/7 and jet lagged. I didn't get time to miss them. We had a nice family lunch and than I gave Aie a scarf that I brought for her. Aie wears scarfs all the time and she looks super cute in it. We had Pedi's for desert which were brought by Sarina Vahini. She knows how to spoil me and Simi.

Easter 2017 | Lifestyle

Hello everyone!
I hope you guys had a lovely Easter. I hope you got to spend time with your loved ones. This Easter, I was working in the morning. After work I went out for lunch with family. We went to an Indian restaurant the food from there is our favorite. We spontaneously decided to go for a walk. It was 70 degree just perfect weather. I'm so glad I wore a jumper for Easter. It was really cute for a lunch and walk in the park later on with the family.

I hope you guys enjoy the pictures. Until next time, always keep hustling for your dreams. XO, Jessi.

Cousin's wedding day | Travel Thursday

My cousin's wedding day was a day full of fun. I met my family and got to spent some quality time with them. It felt like the good old days. I felt as if I still live in same town because, somethings just never change. I woke up early got ready and walked my cousin to church, I remember back in 2014 when he got engaged he told me that he wants me to walk him down to church. Back then, I wasn't even sure that, I would get to go for his wedding but, I did say yes to him and three years later it did happen. In the wedding, I bothered my cousin and Jiju a lot. They decided to adopt me as their child. lol. They always wear matching so I told them that we should match in the evening and somehow the word got out and everyone wore black. We were real trend setter haha! I also had to stop by at two other receptions as my parent's weren't there I had to represent the family. We had some guest over in the afternoon and in the evening it was great to meet our old neighbors from the city that we moved from 13 years ago. We then went to get the bride home. Half way through, I went home and got ready for a evening reception. It was a long day full of wedding parties and I didn't end up taking a lot of pictures but, I did try to enjoy every single moment.

Only liked Jiji cause of wifi😜😜😜

Spring Closet cleaning |Tips and tricks

It's about that time of the year where we have to slowly give up the old and start fresh once again. I started off from cleaning my house one room at a time, redecorating furniture and adding some fresh spring flowers in every possible corner. Now it's finally time to clean my closet. This spring I am  inspired by Dia&Co to share some detox tips for you guys! Closet organizing takes up a lot of time but, hopefully this tips will help. Transgition from winter to spring wardrobe it the first step I take. I try to keep my closet seasonal and put away the coats and boots either in the back of the closet or in storage boxes.
Here are few ways that, I follow to detox for spring:

1.  Make piles to sort items.

- Dresses, Shirts, Pants, skirts, Outerwear, bags and shoes.

  • Causal wear
  • Party outfits
  • Formal wears
  • Long dresses
  • Coats
Sort out every item into this 4 categories it will help to look at each pile more in depth and you can arrange everything once again accordingly. This way you know what you want to keep and what you want to donate and give away.

2.  Love it, like it or not sure.

- Always keep in mind these 3 things while shopping. Make sure you only buy the items that you absolutely love. If you confused and stuck between love it or like it take time to think over it and take few days before making the purchase. Make your piles into this three forms so you know exactly what to keep and what to donate or throw away as per the rating for everything in your closet.

3. Count every use.

- Keep a rough track of how many times you wear a certain outfit. If you haven't touched a piece for a while maybe it's time to give it away if it's something brand new and not your style anymore offer it to your friends/cousins I'm sure they will love to go through it and find something that they like.
- If there is something that you use a lot make sure to buy more of that because, it will slowly help you build a wardrobe of your choice and you will develop a style of your own.
-Keeping track of little things like such simple things will help you to detox your closet better.

4. Build wardrobe full of your favorite things.

- If you had to pack up for a dream vacation for 15 days what are the things that you would take with you. This way you will pick only your favorite items, which make you feel most comfortable and they are your true style.
- Slowly grow your entire wardrobe based on those pieces.

So, here are few tips for spring closet cleaning this year. I hope you guys are looking forward to detox your closet and start new and fresh.
Until next time, keep hustling for your dreams. Xo, Jessi
