December 18th
In the morning, I woke up early took pictures with family, went around with cousins to say hello to everyone in the village. Later on, went snack shopping with cousins and also met baby Nia. My youngest cousin she is just four months old. Had a little bonding time with Nia and also with her family. Later on in the day, I went for sleepovers at my cousin’s house. They had a dinner party and we went to bed super late after long conversation.
December 19th
Lazy morning and afternoon outing plan. A long car ride to in orbit mall. It was a shopping day of course traditional shopping and I wasn’t shopping for myself. It was fun going around the mall and especially when, I got to try sarees. I always underestimated wearing a saree firstly because, I can’t walk in them and secondly I didn’t know how I would look in them. I loved the saree’s and I tried on many sarees just for fun while my cousins were actually shopping. We had lunch at sbarro's pizza the place where I usually eat even when, I go shopping here in US. We ordered a lot of food and couldn’t finish it up! We strolled again, I was looking for some pair of heels but, I didn’t end up liking any. I saw Starbucks and I had to go buy a drink. It was my cousin’s first Starbucks experience and they enjoyed the drinks. I order caramel Frappuccino and Caramel Macchiato two of my favorite drinks and a combo of hot and cold drinks. We had a mini date talking and sipping on those drinks. Later on, we drove to a jewelry shop and I was looking for rings and bangles to match my lehenga. I ended up feeling dizzy and fainting in there. I think it was either because, the shop was too small and there wasn’t proper air conditioning or because, the lady in the store squeezed my hand too much when she put in my bangles. Either way I quickly got out of the store and sat outside for a bit and walked to the car. To my surprise my cousins actually saw what, I had picked and they purchased the ring and bangles for me. How sweet! We drove to Fountain restaurant to eat dinner it was my pick as I love the biryani from that place. Overall it is great day. Next up, will be how my obsession with Jalebis grows, beach day and snack party with cousins.

Birthday Party and Shopping in India| Travel Thursday

December 16th

I woke up super late at around 11 am. I had a sleepover with my cousin and we ended up talking all night. I came home had breakfast and helped my grandma a bit. I spend all day at home just in Pajamas. Mom and Grandma (Aie) cooked lunch. In the evening we all got dressed up for Eden’s 1st birthday party. I absolutely love this baby girl. I get to see her every six months. I love to see her growing from a baby to a toddler. Her birthday party was amazing I didn’t get a good picture with Eden. She wasn’t happy being around such large crowd. I meet Cynthia and Lizelle. Cynthia was super annoying as usual joking she was fun and I love hanging out with her! I got to hang out and meet Lizelle after a very long time. We three planned to hangout in the upcoming days and guess what it never happened. I did get to see them once or twice but it was rush. The food at the birthday party was very good; it was my first Indian party meal after a very long time. It made me super excited and got me looking forward to the upcoming wedding food. I also had my first pani puri and it was amazing.
I absolutely loved my look for the night. I wore a black dress with pink pineapples on it; I mean do I need to say more. My dress is from H&M I had to wear stockings under the dress because wearing a short dress isn’t allowed in India. Even though, I thought it was pretty good length. I paired it with this edge socking’s I love how they add-on to this simple dress. I wore a black and gold chain sling bag and my super cool looking heels matched so well with it. I wore delicate gold chain necklace and pair of gold studs to balance the edge from the gold and black bag & High heels. My makeup was super simple with winked eye liner which Cynthia did for me. I randomly curled parts of my hair to give it an effortless look.

December 17th

Today was a huge shopping day. I was super pumped to go out and check out the new collections in the stores. I had a nice breakfast then got ready. One of my school friend stopped by to meet me it was great catching up. I was in a rush and had to leave for shopping. I went to a store to buy saree for mom and lehenga for me. I knew exactly what I was looking for but the shopkeeper’s started off by showing the clothes they wanted too and they didn’t stop until we said no for a hundred times they don’t show what we ask for. Let me know in the comments down below if you feel the same way. I was super annoyed by that I missed shopping alone and looking for what I want and not have to ask others for help. I didn’t see any major changes in the saree patterns they all basically looked the same to me. Later on, I spotted a red and gold lehenga which was hanged up on a window as it was one of their newest designer piece. I felt in love with the color right away. I wanted to try it on but for some reason they still kept on showing me other lehengas. Red was the theme for my cousin’s wedding so my mom insisted them to show that very piece. I got to try it and I absolutely loved it. I was sure I wanted to buy it. The shop keepers later on said that I had a great choice this one of the best dress as it was showcased on the window. They also wished me good luck studying and told me to come back to their store whenever I visit India again which was super nice of them.  I was happy with my purchase but I have to say Indian outfits are so expensive especially when you are just going to wear it once for few hours. I went out for lunch I had a veg meal it was amazing. I long ride home and somehow the rest of the evening I was home alone. Everyone just decided to keep me home along with the ghosts but the good news is that I survived. Everyone went to pick up my cousins from the airport I was excited to meet them. Once again didn’t get enough sleep as I woke up in middle of the night when cousins reached home. I was very happy to see them and wait until next Thursday because we went crazy all day.

Happy leap day guys! February is over and I couldn’t be happier can’t wait until its spring. I’m so done with winter weather. I shouldn’t be complaining because, we had a very mild winter this year but I can’t wait for brighter and longer days. February is a short month but I did manage to have lot of fun and I have quite a lot of favorites to share. So without any further a due let’s get to it.

Favorite days
February 7th Super bowl day had a family gathering and celebrated mom and dad’s 25th anniversary. Absolutely loved when Lady Gaga sang the National Anthem and the half time show just amazing queen B killed it as always. I’m so in love with her new song Formation and I’m so excited about her world tour announcement. February 14th Valentine’s Day I studied basically all day ate lots of popcorn and candies. February 17th was Random Act of kindness day and just as I walked out of class a guy handed me goodies how sweet! It’s all the little things that make me happy.
Food Favorites
I’m still going very strong with my new year’s resolutions. I went out for lunch at Sushi House for the first time and had my first full course sushi meal experience. I have had sushi plenty of times and I do enjoy it. This experience was very different though and I was very happy with my orders.  I ordered Chicken Tempura and Salmon Teriyaki sushi. In the beginning, I order a small peanut Sause salad which tasted great as well.  A guilty treat, I bet you guys will thank me for after trying. I went to the bookstore to buy Scranton for my midterm exam and ended up buying these snacks. I purchased Combos I absolutely love the buffalo blue cheese favor it taste as amazing as it sounds and with that I also purchased Milk Chocolate covered pretzel which are so freaking good. These two snacks together is one of my favorite to have spicy and creamy combos with sweet and crunchy pretzels. Give it a try and let me know how you like it.
Fashion Favorites
I am so glad to finally wear some winter colors and get a break from bright and colorful Indian outfits. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love Indian outfits and colorful clothes but I enjoy wearing my winter shades as well more then half my closet consists of winter wear. Cozy outfits are a must for Michiganders but keeping them simple and cute is always very important or else it can easy get boring in this gloomy weather. I like to wear more solid and structured clothes. A pop of lip color never hurts I have been loving pink lip this month. A bit moisturizer and no makeup is my go to for winters.
Favorite Saying
GIRLS compete with each other, Women Empower one another.” I believe in girl power and women empowerment and I want to surround myself with like minded women who share the same goal or vision like me. It’s time to stop blaming society for women’s rights. Women keep themselves down by not challenging themselves. Supporting other girls and having a bond is very important. Love yourself for who you are and believe in yourself and no matter what be comfortable with who you are no one in this world is like you and your absolutely unique. Your enough and you can do great things. Stop doubting yourself your perfect the way you are. I’m so thankful to be surrounded by few amazing girl friends that support me in my goals. When we lift each other up and support one another no matter what, that’s when wonderful things happen.
